Biography
I have been a faculty advisor in the Teaching and Learning Support Unit since 2005 with the primary mission of creating, implementing and facilitating learning support programs for students. The first program that was created focuses on learning work methods that are known to promote success. The themes that occupy me are all forms of note-taking and their impact on the understanding and assimilation of course content, time management, motivation, long-term memorization strategies and exam preparation strategies, to name a few. Students, through their involvement in methodological workshops, have the opportunity to “test” their work methods, to verify their compatibility with academic expectations and, of course, to optimize them.
Convinced that group work and peer learning are of major importance in the learning process, I am working to set up mentoring programs in conjunction with various institutional partners. The goal is to encourage collaboration, to establish a social link between students, to develop their sense of belonging to the institution, but also to acquire knowledge and skills by learning from their peers.
Moreover, all of these themes are part of the cross-cutting skills on which we are placing increasing emphasis. On the one hand, because cross-cutting skills are key to academic success, but also because they are becoming increasingly important in the job market. I therefore try to contribute to an optimal preparation of today’s students, but also of tomorrow’s workers and citizens.
My passion is to transmit to students the desire to learn, to discover new things with pleasure and I am convinced that quality methods will facilitate and enrich their academic years.
