I have been teaching since 2012 at the Faculty of Economics and Management. I teach particularly at the bachelor level, including a large first year course (480 students enrolled). Most of my teaching practices are therefore centered on teaching in large lecture halls.

I try as much as possible to implement practices that allow for interaction in large rooms, particularly centered around online voting. I use online voting as a way to (i) work in small groups, (ii) ensure student understanding, (iii) conduct experiments that illustrate the course. I also use Uniboard extensively with “hole-in-the-wall” slides to pace the course.

I really like the idea of the flipped classroom and I try as much as possible to implement the intuitions of this pedagogical method in large rooms. I haven’t found a “good” way to do it yet, but I think about it when I can (not often, that is).
