Raphaël Zaffran

Raphaël Zaffran is the Deputy Director of the Centre for Continuing and Distance Education (CFCD). He steers the organisation of work within the Centre and with the programme teams, anticipating strategic developments and supporting the change brought about by digital transformation. His current research focuses on learning in the age of artificial intelligence, in particular concentration as a key 21st-century skill and the impact of the fragmentation of attention and AI-related dynamics on the social and pedagogical contract. He is the creator and host of the LifeLongLearning@UNIGE podcast and co-director of the micro-certification “Attentional skills in the workplace”.

Since 2019, Raphaël has also headed the CFCD’s Programmes, Pedagogy & Partnerships unit, which advises programme directors and their teams on the design and implementation of continuing education programmes, including curriculum development, instructional design, distance/online learning solutions and tailor-made training. Between 2020 and 2023, he was the coordinator of UNIGE’s Distance Teaching Taskforce for the Rectorate.
